About the work

Prioritizing Perspective

A perspective has many sides and depths. By prioritizing my own, I seek the right positions to perceive the subject. The subject being a portrait, landscape or a mix of both. Usually, with seeing a plain portrait hanging flatly in an exhibition, we see a two dimensional space where we perceive the absoluteness of what is shown.

By creating a three-dimentional space within the work, my goal is to create a playful concentration of meanings within every different point of view. This facilitates the viewer to intuitively move and decide where to stand, what to see. They are then presented by these different meanings, and can therefore follow the fluidity of the creation.

The process of thought is emphasized here, collectively as a space that is free to enter and to understand. We create and we define, redefine the projections of others and our own, therefore bringing forwards the future of it. The perspective of the viewer is just as important in this case.
